Just Eat integration for vending machines in NL and UK

A Just Eat integration for a vending machine starts with a merchant account, through Thuisbezorgd.nl in the Netherlands or Just Eat in the UK, and then a connection to the machine through an integration partner. Just Eat documents that connection as JET Connect, its order API for point-of-sale systems.

Register the business and name the collection address

Apply as a merchant in the country where the machine stands. In the application, describe the operation as it is: an unattended fridge or vending machine, courier collection with an order code, no staff handover. A listing that reads like a restaurant invites questions later.

Prepare one record per location: trading name, collection address and postcode, machine identifier, and the hours a courier can reach it. For a lobby fridge, add the entrance, floor and any outer door that locks. Use the same collection address in the merchant application and in the integration brief.

Plan the integration through JET Connect

Just Eat Takeaway publishes a developer portal and the JET Connect API documentation. JET Connect is the API that sends incoming orders into a merchant's system; Just Eat routes new technical integrations through that programme rather than one-off connections.

Give the integration partner a written description of what the machine must do: receive the order, make it collectable with the order code, release or unlock only the ordered items, and report what was taken. Ask for written confirmation of which parts are available for your country and merchant account before you set a launch date.

Include product mapping in the brief. Each online product needs an exact match to the stocked item, including flavour and pack size. State how unavailable products come off sale and who is alerted when stock reporting stops.

Commission: get it in writing for your country

Just Eat's commission differs by country and by who delivers. Ask for the rate that applies to your merchant offer and put it in the margin calculation with the purchase cost, VAT treatment and the integration charge on separate lines. For a mixed order, calculate the remaining margin across the whole basket before deciding which items to list.

Where PickVend stands with Just Eat

PickVend has applied to Just Eat and is not live there. Operator interest in a market is what moves platforms, so if you run machines in the Netherlands or the UK, tell us the country, city, machine count, machine model and cloud service, and whether you already have a merchant account. A distributor can send the same for its operator customers.

Keep a proposed launch date separate from an approved one. Platform access opens one platform and one country at a time; we say plainly which are live.

Can I connect an existing machine through JET Connect?

JET Connect carries the order; the machine side (stock, unlock or release, collection record) is the integration partner's work. Ask the partner to confirm both halves for your country.

Is PickVend available on Just Eat yet?

No. The application is submitted. Registering your country, city and machine details helps us show demand.

Should a Dutch operator use UK commission figures?

No. Use the rate in your own country's merchant offer; Just Eat quotes it per market and delivery arrangement.
